Machinists Endorse Sanders for Lieutenant Governor

Horicon, WI – International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 873 today announced their endorsement of Henry Sanders in the race for Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor. The union, based in Horicon, represents over 1,700 active and retired members in Wisconsin’s agri-business equipment manufacturing industry.

“The members of Local 873 proudly endorse Henry Sanders for the office of Lieutenant Governor,” said IAMAW Local 873 President Brian Barth. “We feel in today’s world, Wisconsin working families are struggling, global corporations and CEO’s have all the power and money, and Henry will help fix the broken economic system while building an economy that works for everyone.”

Barth pointed to Sanders’ 18-point job creation plan, Progressive Recovery, as a major factor in the Machinists’ endorsement decision. The plan includes a number of initiatives specifically designed to create blue-collar and green-collar jobs in Wisconsin, including expanding the Helmets to Hardhats program and implementing Best Value Contracting policies in government contracts.
“Jobs are our number one concern, and Henry’s plan to get things moving in the right direction again should help,” said Barth. “We thank Henry for his continued support of working families in Wisconsin, and wish him the best of luck in the upcoming primary election as well as the general election.”
