“100 Women for Sanders” Launches Today
Party leaders, local elected officials and equality advocates back Dem candidate on historic suffrage anniversary
MIDDLETON – More than 100 women Democratic Party leaders, local elected officials, and equality advocates today announced their endorsement of Henry Sanders in the race for Lieutenant Governor. The official launch of “100 Women for Sanders” follows Thursday’s historic 90th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage.
“The 90th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage marks an important milestone in the fight for equality, but there is still a great deal of work ahead of us,” said Sanders. “Too often, women are left out—from corporate board rooms, as small business owners, and in government. We can’t possibly hope to create jobs and get our economy back on track without more women filling these roles and being involved in the process.”
“Like so many proud generations before them, these women are pillars of our community and trailblazers on countless important issues,” said Sanders. “I’m honored to have such an energetic, diverse group of community leaders supporting our campaign, and as Lieutenant Governor, I promise to stand with them every day in the fight for women’s equality.”
